I was just curious if any else on the board is a Type 1 diabetic? I found out two years ago when I was 19 weeks pg that I am a Type 1 and it's been interesting to say the least. I just found out that I'm pg again and am not quite sure what to expect. Thanks!
Absolutely! Thanks so much for replying. :) I have an insulin pump now and some of my sugars are great, some not so much. I guess it's just nice to have someone else to relate to while going through pregnancy. None of my friends quite get it as to how much harder it is to be pregnant as a diabetic.
I understand, you are a somewhat new diabetic and to have to adjust to a completeley new lifestyle while pregnant must have been scary. Your family looks beautiful and healthy. Everything was okay with the delivery of Wynn Caroline? Did you have a c-section? Did the Dr induce you first?
It was really scary and difficult to get used to. Nevermind that I was 30 when I was diagnosed so I had already had 30 years of not thinking about everything that went in my mouth, etc. I was induced at 38 weeks but when they broke my water Wynn's cord flushed down below her head. They didn't realize it until she started to move down the birth canal about 12 hours later and I had to have an emergency C section for a prolapsed cord. :( Not fun but we're both fine. :) So, I'm having a C section with this babe too now. I would love to have one other child after this but I just feel like being a pregnant diabetic is a full time job. Please tell me that it gets easier and you get used to it more! That being said I take good care of myself and am willing to do whatever I need to to have a healthy baby. How far along are you?
