I started miscarrying last week with spotting. We started to take my HCG levels but by the time it was time to take the second round I was bleeding a lot with tons of cramping. Can I just say it really sucks, excuse my French, but it does.

Anyways, my question is how long is the bleeding and cramping going to last? My PA said two weeks!!! That is crazy. So I can't move on b/c I am going to have a reminder EVERY DAY FOR TWO WEEKS? This sounds like cruel and unusual punishment to me.

Hi there...

I am so sorry that you are having to join....I miscarried on Sept 13  - a month ago today.  For me I bled heavy the first week, and then lighter as the time went on and a total of almost 3 weeks. (Prior to that I spotted while pg for 9 days so technically I bled for over a month.)

I have heard different stories..but from what I read the average time is 2-4 wks.  some shorter, some longer.

Hugs to you and I am so sorry for your loss.

Donna

my bleeding stopped in less than a week. It looks like there is no way to tell as every person is very different. I wanted answers when I was experiencing my miscarriage too but, the more I looked up the less I actually knew! Keep your head up and know that we are all here for you!

I am so sorry for your loss!

Hi

I'm so sorry you've had to join us here.

I think it is different for everyone.   If I recall correctly I had about 4 days of spotting and only two days of heavy bleeding.

Big hugs to you....

I'm so sorry for what you are experiencing.  I m/c last March.  I had regular AF type bleeding for about a day, then heavy bleeding for a couple of days, and then lighter bleeding for a day or two, but then it got heavier again and stayed that way for about a week.  I went to the Dr., who told me that I shouldn't still be experiencing heavy bleeding, so I received 2 doses of cytotec (meds that contract the uterus to expel tissue).  After the first dose, the bleeding was still the same, so I took the other dose the next day and within hours, the bleeding tapered down to only spotting.  The following day, it stopped and then I got AF 4 weeks later.
