I got this idea from CM.  They have a 1 question 1 answer thread.  Basically, ask a question and we'll answer it!  It's a great way to keep a bunch of questions/answers in 1 thread for easy reference.  Not that you can't start new threads for questions, but this again is just a great way to keep a bunch of info in 1 thread.

So ask your questions here and well answer them!  :O)  We'll keep the thread going and everytime there is a post, we should check it to see if we have an answer.  If we don't, bump it so it stays on the main page!  I don't think I can lock it in the top folder anymore, so if this thread takes off...maybe Becky can ask Wendy to move it into the top locked folder as it's own post!  :O)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

OK, I have one. Could someone please post a photo with the "halos" I have heard about from over sharpening versus that same photo sharpened without the halos? I tried to google it, but didn't have much luck and I really want to know how to make sure to avoid said "halos" when sharpening! Thank you!

Great idea for a thread, by the way! I can't wait to see what else gets posted!

I don't have CS4 open right now and I'm heading to bed after some wedding research tonight.  But if nobody has done this by the time I come back on the board, I'll post an example!  Basically you get a color glow around the edges in the image!  :O)

OK so this is an intentionally overly dramatic example, but you can definitely see them!

In my experience, halos are more likely to come from smallish areas of high contrast, so I picked this photo as an easy one to demonstrate, and sure enough, it was easy to get halos:

Photobucket The whitish areas around the tree branches are halos. Usually they are more subtle, but this should give you an idea of what you're looking for. Hope it helps!
