Hi and welcome to the board! I just wanted to say that you're probably not getting a lot of response because there are SO MANY photos, and they are attached instead of embedded. Attached photos are kind of a pain to see, as you have to open each one in a new window or tab.

Crystal has a post in the sticky area above showing how to embed your photos instead of attaching them. It makes them show up within the post and it is much easier for people to see and comment.

We have 2 sections below "Show us your shots" for just, well, showing off, and "Photo Feedback" for when you want feedback on what you could have done better in taking the photo and/or doing your processing. I looked at some of your photos but didn't really know if you were just sharing or wanted feedback.

Anyway, I just thought I'd say hi and hopefully help you get a feel for why you didn't get much response. Hope you stick around and share some more!

Oh ok thanks I guess I should have read that entering. I will do that next time about the photos. Yes I thought I put in the post but maybe I forgot that yeah I would like to know if they look ok or if I needed to change anything. I havent really played around with the camera since Ive only had it a week or two but Im shooting with a Nikon D50 and I would like to know more about how to shoot in differant modes. Thanks for any help or input!

I'd suggest getting out your camera manual and have it in your hands while you read this tutorial:

http://messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-ppphoto/?msg=5894.1

It helped me when I was struggling with other modes.

There are also some great tutorials in the locked section above - if you're not sure exactly what aperture is - there are a couple on that alone. Same for shutter speed, etc.

I found I often had to go back & forth between my manual and the tutorials. For example, the tut might say "Adjust your ISO" and then you have to use the manual to find out how that is done on YOUR camera, because all cameras are different.

Take TONS of photos. Look through our challenges section (even going way back) for some that have you try different things with the camera. Post your results, ask questions, etc. The initial learning curve can be steep and hard to climb, but once you get over that hump, it's lots of fun learning everything else there is to learn!

I'll go back and randomly pick a photo or two to give you some feedback on. Sorry, I don't really have time to do them all.

I don't have the time to look at all the pictures but you have some cute pictures!

With wanting to try out the different modes and such the best thing is to do experiements.....Try to experiment with one different thing for a week....maybe play with the ISO for a week.  Then try out the aperture for another week, etc.

You will get it and improve!  I had my Canon XT for a year and a 1/2 and just used the automatic and then the automatic modes for a while!  Then DH told me that I couldn't upgrade until I had played and understood all the modes....so I started to play.....it's hard and sometimes you want to give up but it will all click on day and be SO easy!! :-)

Good LUCK!!

Thanks Shy, Tanya, Yesenia & Court for my Siggies!!
