Now that our luvbugs have been in school for several weeks, what are you finding they like for lunch? Do they usually buy lunch or take it? If they buy, what is their favorite school meal? If they carry lunch, what do you pack?

Katie is such a creature of habit, but that makes it easy for me!

Most everyday I'll send a 1/2 (one piece of bread folded over) of a PB&J sandwich, some kind of chips & if we happen to have any kind of extra little treat like marshmallows or something. Plus her drink, which is either a Capri-Sun or Kool-Aid (made w/ Splenda). I only send 1/2 a sandwich b/c she won't eat much of it at school--at home she'll eat a whole one but for some reason she doesn't eat much at school, probably too distracted by the other kids. I know what she does eat & what she doesn't b/c instead of throwing away the baggies, she puts all her trash back into her lunchbox for me to dispose of....

Now if I happen to have any ham or bologna at home, she'll have that kind of sandwich. And, she likes when I happen to buy Lunchables.

One time she wanted leftover pizza so I warmed up 2 pieces a few seconds longer than I normally would & wrapped them in foil & a napkin. They eat lunch early, at 10:45-11:15, so it was only in her lunchbox for a couple of hours.

Katie hasn't bought lunch from the cafeteria. They send home monthly menus & from the looks of them, she'd rather starve than eat those entrees! ;)

Ethan only goes to school half days which really stinks!  Anyway, if he did go for a full day, I don't know what I'd pack for him.  He really only likes peanut butter sandwiches, but his classroom is "peanut free".  I'd probably send him with a bunch of little things like stick cheese (those Polly-O mozzarella cheese sticks) and crackers and yogurt and maybe some fruit.

Morgan usually gets turkey rolled up, tuna fish(no bread), turkey and cheese sandwich or cheese and crackers..She is so picky.

I send her with a lot of snacks because she has an am and pm snack that we provide..its usually a few of the following yogurt, grapes, small bag of chips, string cheese, ritz w/PB,banana,fruit by the foot, fruit cups, strawberries.

I pack 2 small juice boxes for snack and she buys a milk for lunch..The lunch menu doesnt look very tasty( I do lunches 2 days and week and watch all the food being thrown out)..If its a chicken nugget day, I will let her buy but im not paying $2.75 a day for her to throw out her food.

I need to get a small thermos to start letting her bring macNcheese or soup..She doesnt like PB&J or any other lunch meat.

I had to look twice before I determined that the witches hat is on the baby's head...too cute!

I bought Maddi a small Thermos. I was surprised at the cost, around $17, I think, but she loves carrying mac-n-cheese or ravioli in it and it keeps everything nice and hot.

Maddi has morning snack, but we don't send it in each day. One parent provides snack for the entire class on the assigned day. It works out to about once a month. Tomorrow is our day to provide snack. I am taking in sliced apples, goldfish, vanilla wafers and juice.
