So, I'm declaring this Halloween a "research" Halloween for me. Which means, I was too lazy to dress up and instead I've decided to gather intelligence for next year's costume.

What were/are the best costumes you've seen this Halloween?

Sadly, I didn't see anything really great this year.

I saw a lot of teenage girls in getups that my girls will NEVER wear!

I saw a mom walking her kids around the 'hood with a beer in her hand.

I saw a guy with long gray/white hair and a full gray/white beard, wearing a gray wife beater and purple velvet pants, pushing a baby stroller.  Had a big beer gut too.  I only hope that was a costume.  And I really wish I had my camera.

My neighbor said a teenager came around trying to ToT while smoking!  She told her if she was old enough to smoke than she was too old to ToT.  LOL

So...I'm no help to your research.  But I'm curious to hear what everyone saw.  I always look forward to seeing all the costumes, and I was disappointed this year.

my favorite was really clever.. our friends last name is Wright..they're siblings and each have a little boy. so they dressed them up as the Wright brothers-- soooo cute! let me find a pic.

this is the best i have..one of them is on the right. they each had the same outfit with box planes and their respective names:i think this was orville wright ..

Saw someone dressed up as Octomom and someone else as Kate Gosslin.. those were pretty funny.. some friends of mine dressed up as Kanye and Taylor Swift..

It's funny that you mention that about the teenagers Melissa. At the high school John teaches at, there tend to be issues about appropriateness of dress on Halloween. So on the 29th, the principal made this announcement:

"...for example, if you're going to dress up as a nurse, please be sure that it's the kind of nurse that we'd all take our family to..."

If you are romantic (read cheesy) type, you might like this one. A man and a woman came to the party together. Man was dressed in an outfit that was completely covered in dried leaves (hot glued). She was in an outift covered with hearts. They said they were:
