Welcome to Sanity Saturday!!

What do you do to reclaim your sanity? How often do you need to do it? What things have been making you crazy lately?

Does your family need Sanity Saver time? How do you know? What things do you do to improve it?

Usually I do pretty well with keeping sanity. At least now that the house is minus 2 kids lol. The things that really have been making me crazy lately is my in-laws. Usually I can ignore them, but they are just getting under my skin for almost the last month. They are really butting in where they don't belong and of course everything is my fault because Frank would never be in the position he is at if I didn't screw up in the first place. UMM yeah, keep on believing that - morons lol.

I will usually go out with my sister. Sometimes for lunch during the week, bingo on Fri night or for coffee at night during the week.

My family need sanity time when there is just a lot of bickering going on. Some cures are watching a movie, making a fun type dinner. (homemade pizza, fondue) At times a trip to the mall can break the tension but sometimes it will backfire.

I get overwhelmed with too many questions so I think I'll answer only one.

For my own sanity, the number one best thing is gardening. I don't get to do it that often, because it requires that everything else is under control and the girls are occupied. I thought that school starting would help, but between Dini's broken leg and running around for Gram's healthcare, and all the other activities that were supposed to fit so neatly into our new schedule, I still have no time. So I have to made do with my second best sanity saver, which is tidying the house. Everyone in our house is messy, and getting things in order helps me feel a little less like our life is total chaos.

I seriously need to reclaim my sanity. I need time away from the kids and any phone calls relating to the kids, because it seems that even when they are at school, the school is calling, or I am making appts, etc...

I don't have any method for it because what I really think I need is time away, which I do not get in a sufficient quantity. Actually I need them to go away so I can be in a comfortable surrounding and ALONE.

What usually allows me to keep from drowning is the little amount of time they are at school, esp when Thomas is napping. I have a lot of energy in the morning, so a good day that helps me keep from going over the edge would involve getting up early, ahead of them, making a breakfast that everyone eats, getting them out the door, getting 30 min or so of exercise (walking/running), coming home and turning on the radio and gettting some cleaning done (anything from organizing the garage and breaking down boxes to getting 100% caught up on laundry to organizing and cleaning the pantry - something that is visible and lasts a little bit), and then having time to relax in the afternoon.
