We like to read out loud to each other. That's what Dh and I do most nights, share a book. We would really like to start doing this more with the kids. Right now we each divide attention to the older kids for reading time for homework, then we try to get in some time with the little ones, but it's tough! I can't wait till they are all old enough to sit down together! We've tried before, but they were just too young. We've tried again, with some success. We're reading Hatchet out loud to the kids. Our oldest (8) is enjoying it and our 6 year old tunes in from time to time. Our littlest two (3 and 19 months) just run around and I give them picture books to look through quietly while we're reading. Does anyone have any idea of how to get them all to sit for reading? We wanted to buy every famiy member their own bean bag chair to lounge in for story time, but finances won't allow it this Christmas. Any ideas for us? Any ideas for some great family books that will interest a range of ages?

~

Thank you Sophie (sophie.avas.mummy) for my beautiful siggy!
