I've been on a self-esteem bandwagon this year. Everybody keeps saying that we need to give our kids a better self-esteem and then I hear all these sorts of things:

Why Is It Only Men Get To Be Fat and Funny?
http://www.neversaydiet.com/blog-article/why-it-only-men-get-be-fat-and-funny

It just baffles me in this day and age!!

So, what are some of your pet peeves these days?

Wendy,
What a great question... are you sure you want the answer???
Ok, here are a couple of mine....
Pregnant women who complain about being pregnant... or more specific, those who complain about the baby kicking them all the time.  Those who stand in line at the grocery store & go on & on.  I am not a violent person, but shortly after we lost our daughter, a lady was doing this.  I had an extremely strong urge to kick her & tell her to be thankful for every little kick she feels, because it can all end way to quickly & you pray for just one more little kick.  Just for the record, I left my cart totally full in by the check out line & walked out of the store with tears streaming down my face trying to get to my car before the gates open up & totally broke down.  I didn't kick her... Now I pray that they will never experience the pain of missing those kicks.  I also encourage them to treasure every little moment.

Another big one lately is parents who complain their children are out of control & they have no idea why... Have you ever heard of a little discipline, setting boundaries...  just because they whine doesn't mean you have to give into it!!!  It is ok to say "no" to the precious little darlings & teach them that you don't always get everything in life just because you want it!  If they scream in the store, & you buy it for them, you just taught them to behave that way!  JUST SAY NO, & stand by your answer -- no matter how much they scream.

Ok, I will step off my soap box for now, so it is open for the next person to use.  :)

hmmm where should I start....
-parents who hit their kids to punish them for hitting other kids.
-people who chit chat with the cashier when there is a line 5 people long.
-my husband leaving his clothes, dishes, and trash everywhere.
