OK, I have a WWYD question...

David and I were looking at Carnival cruises last night and we could book the same cruise, same days with Carnival and save about $500. We are really tempted to switch to Carnival. That is a lot of money. If I cancelled with Disney then I could take what I have already paid them and completely pay off the Carnival cruise. We are really torn b/c we like the look of the Disney cruise better (not a floating Vegas hotel) BUT $500...that's a lot of money.
We could go on exactly the same excursion with Carnival to Atlantis that we were going to do with Disney and we would add the swim with the Dolphins. :) We wouldn't get a pirate party or Castaway Cay and I would miss Animators Palate. :( But $500 is $500.

What would you do??

If it were just John and I going, I would do Carnival and apply the $ elsewhere.  We would be going more for adult time and romance.   We have seen the characters at WDW.   If I were taking kids - I would pay more for the Disney enviroment.

But that is just me.

Have you looked at Royal Caribbean?  How does their prices compare for what you want?   They seem to be a nice balance between Disney & Carnival from the reviews I've read.

I looked at RC and they don't sail out of Port Canaveral on the day we want to sail. So it's either Disney or Carnival. Carnival has the identical sailing date and time so it would work perfectly with our airline tix.

Yea Deb, I am leaning the same way. If the boys were coming I wouldn't even question changing but with it being just us, we can do the same excursions and get a massage on that ship just as well as on Disney. I don't like the style of decorating on the Carnival as much, but really, should that stop me from saving $500? LOL I will that nice split bath though... It's hard for me to cancel the Disney cruise b/c I really would love it but when I look at the Carnival site I don't see how I can justify the extra $$. Plus, we will be at Disney for five nights before the cruise so it's not like I'm not getting my Disney fix. :)

I understand.  Truly.  I went back and forth myself - because I wanted that Disney "feel".   But if it is just you & David, what are you going to do most?   Massages, rest, adult time.   So probably spend more time in the adult clubs slow dancing, and in your room.   And you still have the land portion (WDW before).

$500 is a lot of money you can put somewhere else.  However, it is not a lot of money if it will make a difference in how much you enjoy your anniversary.   If you switch to Carnival, save $500 and are disappointed that you aren't getting the Disney feel you were looking forward to, then it was a wasted savings.  You know?

This is a celebration - you need to do whichever one will make you feel happiest.
