I posted this on the iV Disney board but maybe they're busier over there, idk.  (I saw Kim's post there too, and no one else responded to that yet either, I'm beginning to get a complex lol.)

Does anyone know, are there coffeemakers in the rooms at All-Star Music Resort?  Also we want to request a room in the Calypso Bldg., with a king-size bed, should I request that ahead of time, or wait until we check in?

In Peace,
Max

No coffee makers in any of the rooms. If you want a king size bed then you need to request that when making the reservation (or call ASAP and have it changed) and you can request which building you want but there are no guarantees. Plus Calypso is where all the prefered rooms and family suites are so almost no chance of getting it unless you pay for it. It is worth every dime to pay for prefered at music, it is the worst set up for a value resort. We stayed way out in Rock and it was an awful long like to the food court/bus stops.

Looks like Tawnya got ya all set. :)
I agree with her on the preferred rooms-they are worth the extra $$. I do love Music and I'm so excited for you!! I hope it turns out to be a positive trip for you all.

You guys are the best!  I wonder why Kim & I got stiffed on the D board?  Oh well.

Thanks, I am going to call first thing in the morning to find out about the preferred rooms.  I wonder what the rate difference is?  I was reading some old (from 2004, 2006) reviews of ASMu (on mouseplanet), and it looks like the rate we got hasn't changed much!  Weird.  The old reviews were kind of on the negative side, too, re. the cleanliness, noise level (thin walls), crowds in the food court, etc.

I thought I remembered something about the Value Resorts not having coffeemakers in the rooms, I mentioned it to dh before I posted anything, and he goes, oh sure they have coffeemakers, it's a Disney hotel, isn't it?  I told him I wasn't so sure.  He's a man who HAS to have his morning coffee.  We might borrow one from MIL's house since we'll be there before Orlando.  We still haven't decided on our mode of transport from MIL's to DW though, but if we have our own vehicle, we'll be taking the coffeemaker and a small cooler too.

And I realized that with the Dining Plan, we'll only be eating breakfast at the food court (unless we bring stuff with us), and dh is an earlier riser than I am, he most likely would go there & get us stuff & take it back to the room.  He usually doesn't mind doing that sort of thing because he can smoke while he's outdoors lol.

Kim, I didn't realize your Great Wolf trip is so soon, I know you all will have lots of fun there too!

In Peace,
Max

The Music rooms were renovated in late 2007 or early 2008-can't remember which but when we went in June 2008 it was all new and sparkly clean. :) So the reviews you read were before the renovation-they have been much more positive lately. Music seems, to me anyway, to be turning into one of the more popular All Stars. It's clean, pretty, a tad more "adult" than the other All Stars, and they offer things, like poolside movies, that the other All Stars don't. I neverhave trouble sleeping, esp. at Disney so I don't know about "thin walls", etc. LOL Seems to me to be no different than a Quality Inn, Hojo, etc.

I noticed that the Disney board has slowed down a LOT. I have been trying to post over there a little more to try to add to it b/c I feel bad sometimes that we post so much over here. I don't take it personally that no one responds-esp. on weekends. I hope it will pick up steam again over there.

Great Wolf is sneaking up on us!! LOL I have everything I need, I think, except I need to make our t-shirts. Maybe I can do that today. :)
