Well, big changes here today.
David's grandfather was told in May 2008 that he had 4-6 weeks to live. It is now Oct. 2009 and he is still here, but not doing well. This weekend is his birthday and the family just let us know that they are planning a big birthday party with people coming from all over and it is suspected that this will be his last birthday. Well, David, of course, really wants to go. I understand that but I wish we were given some advance notice of this so it wasn't such a suprise to us. Anyway, we are not going on the cruise and instead are going to go to MS this weekend (which means staying 3 nights in a hotel and boarding my dogs) and we will either change our airline tickets or stay in a Value for a few nights so we don't have to change our tickets. I don't know right now what we will be doing but I do know that the cruise is out. Honestly, I am not that upset. Cancelling Disney was the hard part for me so giving up on the cruise isn't as bad. David and I talked and we both really want to cruise with the boys so I am hoping that I can get a cruise earlier rather than later (Spring Break 2011??? Fall 2010??). We will see. I am a tad dissapointed but I am the one who suggested giving up the cruise so we can go this weekend. Like Tara told me, my heart wasn't in the Carnival cruise so it was easy to give up. We are definately going to AKV and maybe to a Value-who knows. I'm still excited about the trip-even if there is less of it. ;) Now I'm back on code watch for Jan 2010. LOL I sure hope they off a good room ony. ;)
Funny thing is, the passports are scheduled to come today. Oh the irony...
