Gosh, I have so much news, it's really really difficult to not have a computer or internet for 3 weeks, and now my home desktop is misbehaving tsk. I'm on Danielle's laptop for now, I hate laptop keyboards.
So here goes. Dh's Mom is still with us, she's in the hospital still. Many things going on, the latest is a touch of pneumonia and her immune system is shot. They're saying she'll be on i.v. antibiotics over the weekend and maybe discharged Monday. That's if she can stay off the ventilator this time. She's been on one twice in the last month. The last time she came off one, they sent her to a rehab, but the rehab sent her back 'cause of this one hard-to-heal bedsore! It's on her tailbone, and she can't be turned because of both knees & hips replacements tsk. Plus she doesn't want to go to a rehab anyway, she knows she is getting sicker & weaker and just wants to go home for the rest ... :(. Dh stayed there in case she gets discharged next week, so someone will be there and he'll coordinate all her care, etc.
WDW was WONDERFUL! But while we were there, at one point dh was talking on the phone with dd#1 in NY, the one who's getting married in 2011. She offered to push up the wedding so Grandmom can see her get married! So now we're planning an intimate backyard/garden wedding for the day after Thanksgiving! We just need Grandmom to hang on in here with us.
At least I don't have to cook Thanksgiving, I convinced dh to order a dinner from the Winn-Dixie. There will be Mom we hope, the 5 of us plus Chris, dh's brother, my sister & BIL, and Mom's friend from Philly, & maybe a few others I'm forgetting, all for turkey dinner.
I got home late Thursday evening, it's cold here :)! I had to wear gloves this morning in the car, my hands were freezing on the steering wheel lol.
So, AS-Mu and WDW. What can I say? We loved it so much, we bought a DVC at Kidani Village at the AKL! We are going to try to stay there 1 or 2 nights in January, dh is enamored with the savannahs. He made me cancel our Boma reservation and instead we ate at Sanna (cast members kept recommending it, so we decided to swich)! Well Sanna (sp?) is GORGEOUS! And quite romantic, the setting. The food was incredible, it was difficult to order because I wanted to taste EVERYTHING lol. Hey, I'm not plus-size for nothing.
And souvenirs, good grief. We must be the shopping-est guests EVER. We kept having stuff sent back to the hotel (YAY on-site benefits), and the folks in charge of storing it all said we filled up all their space for our part of the alphabet LOL!
But man, was it HOT! The night we arrived, 10/18, it was quite cool, so much that we cut short our stroll around the Boardwalk after our dinner (Kouzzina w/ Cat Cora; more on that in the forthcoming trip report). But the REST of the 2 weeks was HOT!
And of course, despite having that procedure last month, I am STILL on swimming etc. restriction. I don't think I'm supposed to still be having my 'friend' by now. But fear not, my follow-up appointment is on Monday 11/9. I will NOT be missing it. In fact, dh wanted me to stay with him at Mom's in case he needs more help next week, but I told him I cannot miss the appointment. After all, doesn't he miss having s*x? It seems like it's been forEVER! So he said yea, I'd better NOT miss it lol.
Okey dokey, gotta go pick up the kid at school (natch, when I come home there's a public transit strike), then the dog, the mail, & then the rest of dd's stuff from my sisters (& have dinner there too, yay). Oh, and pick up my prescriptions tsk. Scatterbrained me left my diabetes meds at my MIL's.
TTFN.
