Let your therapist know how you feel about meds. Let the psychiatrist (if you choose to go) know how you feel about meds.

It's ok to be nervous or scared about going on meds. I remember hating being on them because I didn't feel like I should have to take a pill just to function. I wanted to stop. But instead, I let the medicine continue to do it's job and function as my scaffolding as I got my life together. Eventually I weaned off and have been med free for nearly a year now. I do take supplements to help me though.

I wish you all the best and encourage you to continue to post here with any questions you may have (or even just to vent!)

Warmest,
Lauren

Thanks Lauren I appreciate the support, its nice having a place to share my thoughts and feelings, and especially knowing that we are not alone in this, it can happen to anyone. I've had some pretty decent days, recently.  i feel like i take 2 steps forward and one step back. I hope to continue in this upward direction.

Oh I hated those steps back. HATED them. I kept telling myself that as long as I was making more steps forward than back I was good. And eventually I was. Looking forward to being your "safe" place & glad to hear that you've had some good days! That's awesome! ((hugs))

i am having a real bad day today. i feel like crying, i did not sleep well last night which i think aggravates my situation. a day like today is when i feel that maybe i should try meds. why do i feel this way when i was doing much better? i am just curious what your story was, Lauren, you seem to have really come a long way. you seem so strong. how old are your kids? when does it really get better?
