I'm also new here and just happened across this post...I wanted to suggest Dr. Sears' The Discipline Book. I also just read one called, "The Emotional Life of the Toddler" and enjoyed the insight into my son's emotional development.
HTH! I have also noticed a lot of great reads for children slightly older than ours (mine is 2 as well), but not a ton out there (that I like) for toddlers.
