What do you think of Dobson stepping down as director for focus on the family? IMO, it is a positive thing but I really wish he didn't have such a leading role, still. So many people, mostly christians, look up to him like he's the next best thing to God and his beliefs and actions imo are very far from God's word. Frankly, I find him advocating abuse toward other peoples' kids and men like him are dangerous!

I always find it sad that so many parents can get lead to hurt their children based on the words of just a few men. That they can go against their own parental instincts. One of the many things that irritate me about Dobson and pearl are that they were working building these big business and the mom was the one at home really raising those kids. I wonder how much time any of those men actual put into their children. I wonder if any of it was positive. The moms though are just hand maidens to the dads harsh rules anyway.

My aunt and her friend loved Dobson. They thought he was such a gifted person. They would talk to me about him and it would be so hard to not just fly off the deep end. They just could not really understand the abuse he promotes or how he really feel s about children. They neither one have kids but both adore their lil dogs. One day I copied and gave her the dog training bit he published in to train up a child. My aunt never sent me another clipping about him. I am not really sure she understood or really believed he could be that bad but she at least had some doubt then.

I know how awful the pearls and the Ezzos are but for me I always see dobson as the biggest threat. The first two are so harsh that if a parent just uses a bit of common sense they will see them for their cruelty. Dobson is more subtle and I think he could fool a lot more parents. I think too he could suck in parents that might not lean toward punitive measure without his lil push and his god guilt.

when I read any of them though I can just feel the hate they have for children. I always think why, why did these people have kids? I wonder that about a lot of parents , it amazes me just how cruel parents can be to something that is so small and tender.

Do you know why he stepped down? Was it his choice or was it decided for him?

I've seen that happen quite a bit with him. I don't know the specifics on his stepping down but I was sure happy to hear about it!

Good to see you here Jen! I need to call you soon. Catch you up on some things.

Sounds great call me anytime..

I was stunned when I read this... http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/02/27/dobson.steps.down/

Dobson has gained widespread attention again with his criticisms of a 2006 speech by now-President Barack Obama on his religious views. He accused Obama of "deliberately distorting the traditional understanding of the Bible to fit his own worldview, his own confused theology."

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.. Dobson twist the word of God to fit his agenda every day of the year..
