or is this just something that comes naturally to you? How or when did you decide to be a positive parenting parent?

Yep, I read and try new strategies all the time. Some work some days, others work other days, some don't work. I think some of it is common sense but when you are sleep deprived and get frustrated, common sense is hard to find :) I recently read Elizabeth Pantley's No Cry Discipline Solution and I really liked it. It is all about gathering tools and she had wonderful parent anecdotes.

For me it is a bit of both  somedays it seems to flow naturally other days i feel so challenged that i need to  reach out for tools to help  me cope and reffirm our parenting choices and my confidence in the approach.

I positive parented DD from the start , not conciously it just happened, then i found this site and it set the ball rolling on my research and the tools i use as DD grows (and now DS).
