I really need ideas on how to redirect my SB lately. She has been sick the last 2 weeks with croup then hand, foot & mouth virus so she has been extra fussy/clingy. So this past weekend she started throwing her head back & arching her back, pushing away from me while holding her, drawing her knees up & screaming if she doesn't want to do something. These have mainly happened when we arse trying to get her in car seat, getting her dressed/diaper changes, or when sleepy. I have tried calmly telling her this behavior is not acceptable or necessary, although I realize she has no clue what I am saying. I just don't know what else to do when she is doing this. I have started placing her in the crib when she gets really rough and telling her I will not fight her while trying to hold her, that I love her but mommy is not going to fight with her. I just don't know what others ways there are to address this with her so that I am helping her understand this type behavior is not alright......
Danielle - Proud stepmom to Austin (12) & Ryan (16), momma to Raegan (01/16/09) & wife to an amazing hubby, Derrick.
Perfectly normal behavior for her age! I need more time to give you a better answer (will do that tonight) but rest assured she is doing exactly what she is supposed to do. No, not driving you crazy, lol. Just being a kid!
