I know that you really want to quit. I just think you should seek professional help. There is no doubt that you love and adore your child, but you have a strong addiction. Throwing them out isnt going to cut the urge. I think you should get some counseling. I feel that I should join some kind of support group. Im seven weeks and still smoking, I cut down from a pack a day to half a pack a day, but I still feel horrible. Nicotine is so addictive (Ive heard its worse than heroin). Anyway, dont beat yourself up, just get some help, you cant change the past and every passing second is another chance to quit smoking! Good Luck!

Hey, I read your message and I understand. I recently found out that I'm pregnant (first one) which was completely unexpected, unplanned......the whole nine yards. My boyfriend and I have broken up (for the umptenth time, and like you I used alcohol and a lot of smoking to "cope"). He too is causing me tremendous, insermountable, painfull stress!!! Now, I found out I was pregnant last week and I've been smoking on a consistent basis for 3 1/2 years and have been unsuccessful at every single attempt to quit. But when that test came back positive I did the hardest thing, I threw my marlboros away! Now, I will tell you; I have dragged a one hitter 3 times but have not since.

To make matters worst, I found a 1/2 pack carton but had to ditch them!! It was very hard, but I did it!! This is the first time in my life and in our on again off again fiasco that I haven't (can't) turn to the booze and smoke. So if I can do it, I know you can. You have got to find another way to deal with your stress!! Find friends who can relate and indulge them with your concerns, worry, stress, everything! Go for walks, listen to calming music, watch a good movie, read a good book; do what ever you have to do but don't let that stressful idiot cause harm to the baby too through a ciggerette you may later regret smoking.
