Ok there are people out there that think that teen pregnancy is an aweful thing. However i never agreed to this... But now that it has taken apart in my life im at a loss to what I'm suppose to do. I want to be the best parent that i can be. I am currently 16 and I am 35 weeks and having a boy. If you have any advice on what i should do to insure that my son will have the best life that i can offer please share. Anything you all have to offer can do a great deal of help. Thanx.

Hi-

My advice is to make sure you have a good support system around you.  The first few weeks after giving birth are very tiring and can be very stressful so it helps to have people around you to help give you a break.

You might also want to check out the Teen Moms board:

Hopefully some of the girls there can give you some advice since they are going through a similar situation.  Good luck to you and your son.

Definitely check out the teen moms board, like the other post said.

Besides that, I firmly believe that you can be a great mom at any age! It's hard to remain committed day in, and day out but it's doable. Commit to it, and you (and your son) will be just fine!

Utilize any support you have - Friends and family become so important!

Take parenting classes

I don't know where you live, but in Indiana we have this program called Healthy Families. They basically come into your home once a week and give you guidance. They also have a huge list of referrals to other agencies. It has been great for me!

You can do this!
