so my sd just turned two at the end of september. I started a new job in June and am starting to get baby wants=) Its just i get so nervous when it comes down to the plan. I had said we would start in February so that the baby would not be near ds bday. Is it normal to be freaked out? I thought of maybe trying this month ..and totally freaked! I was hoping to have a bigger apt but its not looking like we will sell this place anytime soon! So as soon as i let go, i thought i was ready! I really dont want the kids to be two far apart in age. So part of me thinks i am just being selfish in waiting. any thoughts?

Welcome Erin,
Your little man has the most gorgeous blue eyes. :)

I don't think freaking out is that uncommon. It shows that you are considering your options and putting a lot of thought into having #2 and what that would entail. You've weighed the benefits and potential issues with having #2 and decided to move forward so naturally you'd be a little scared. I think having another baby is scary. I waited 4+ years to TTC another and even though we had ALL our ducks in a row regarding house, time, spacing, etc I still freaked. I just think that jumping into the unknown with baby #2 is going to cause some anxiety. If you feel that you are overly anxious for a good reason other than just some pre-conception jitters it may be a signal to re-evaluate your plan and make sure you are really ready before moving forward.

Welcome to the board and please feel free to stick around and hang with us. :)

Welcome to the board Erin!  Your son is gorgeous, love those eyes.  I think it's totally normal to be freaked out about the prospect of having a baby, whether it be #1 or #6.  Having a baby is imo the single biggest, most important, and most life changing you ever do so if you aren't freaked out about it then you probably don't know what you are getting into. :P

I do agree with Christa that if it's not normal jitters then you may want to evaluate if you are truly ready or maybe need to wait a bit before TTC #2.  I don't think 3 or 4 years is too far apart but that's jmo and others think they should be closer.  You and DH will know when it's the right time to add to your family.  GL on deciding when and I hope you stay and post around during this DTT time so we can support and encourage you along the way.

I will not wait to get a bigger place, because who knows when that will happen? I have a two bedroom so it not the end of the world! I thought i missed the window for this month but i just tested and i am having a lh surge! So we are gonna give it a shot!!!!!!!!!!!!! omg!!!! so scary and exciting at the same time=) I was not trying for Daniel and it all worked out, we know we want more than one and we are happy ..so??? i will try this month and next and then we will wait till Febuary to try because i dont want it to be close to Daniels bday.
