Welcome! I'm outside of Asheville also, on the south side. Mars Hill and Madison county is a pretty area, but you will most definitely want to come into Asheville for Drs etc. What's bringing you to this area? And what led you to Mars Hill?
The good news with Drs is that you will have PLENTY to chose from. There are several good ped practices in town. As well as OBs, primary care, etc!!
We use Community Family Practice for most everything - primary care, peds, etc. It's a lovely group of physicians located on Merrimon Ave. I've been with the group since I was a teenager. My primary Dr in the group does most of my GYN stuff such as yearly pelvics and paps. They even did my prenatal care and delivered both my kids!! : ) I don't think any of them do deliveries anymore - my youngest is 10.
When I say there are lots of peds in town, I mean it! Asheville Childrens, Mtn Regional, ABC, All Kids, etc. I know several people that go to All Kids and ABC and like them. Asheville Childrens has been around forever.
I could recommend a dentist, but I don't think you want to drive almost to Hendersonville from Mars Hill for that! ; )
I have used Regional Allergy and Asthma for my allergy needs in the past.
There are TONS of activities for the little ones in the Asheville Area. There are of course tons of parks to visit and play. We also have the Health Adventure downtown in Pack Place. And the Nature Center with lots of animals including a petting zoo.
I can't be much help with preschools, I'm only familiar with the ones south of Asheville and into Hendersonville.
