We just started our 17 week old on cereal. We first gave her rice but it constipated her, so we now switched to oatmeal. She loves it and last night she cried for more, so we gave her more. However, I think it upset her tummy (maybe too close to bedtime and too much?) and she had a horrible night, up 4x in the night, very unsettled. However, I gave her a little bit again at lunchtime today and again she loved it and wanted more. I didn't give her more because I want to see how this bit reacts. She did have a poo this morning, not a normal one, but not really constipated either, so I'm wondering, is it too soon for solids, is she not ready? Or is she ready? She loves eating off a spoon and really enjoys the food. We've also given her yogurt which she loves, too. So I'm not sure if we should stop and go back to straight formula, or continue and hope for better nights? Maybe not give it so close to bedtime and not so much?
Advice appreciated!!

Not sure what advice to offer you on this one. It may be too soon but if she is eating it well and wanting more and has lost her tongue reflex it is a hard call. You could try waiting and see if that helps or like you said maybe it is too close to bedtime. My DD started on solids at 4 months oatmeal as well but she gets it in the morning with her second bottle. So it is usually around 10:30.
Sorry I am not more help, good luck!
