H1N1 talk is too much

I know everything is more fresh for me than for most of you here, but am I the only one that can't handle much more talk about H1N1?  2 weeks ago I would have been considered high risk and now I'm not.  Every news report about the flu mentions pregnant women and rubs it in that I'm not pregnant anymore.  To get my toddlers immunized, I'm going to have to go to a clinic and wait with a lot of pregnant women - how am I going to handle that?  How is everyone else taking this?

Hi, I seldom post, but was thinking of my baby today and checked out this site.
With grace and stride is how I would handle this. Take care of yourself and your little one. Often times when people are mourning, there seems to be a double loss. In some cases, your immune system maybe compromised and you don't want to have to deal with a illness on top of grieving over the loss of your precious little baby.

I just lost a dear colleague on Wednesday due to H1N1 complications. She taught Monday, went to the hospital Monday night and passed away Wednesday morning. She was 52, healthy, in great health and shape and had just won teacher of the year award the week before. Now her family is dealing with the loss of their Mother, Grandmother, and wife. Although this is the extreme side of H1N1, take care of yourself. I'm sure you can say, you don't need any more suffering in your home right?

Take care of yourself...You are so needed here...on earth. Who knows what the future may unfold.

I agree. Everytime they do a report they mention pregnant women and show a pregnant belly and it hurts so bad! Our local health department just held a clinic 2 weeks ago for pregnant women and every news station showed it and interviewed what felt like a million pregnant women. The line for the clinic had hundreds of pregnant women! Hundreds...but not me!

Of course I don't want them to get sick and I'm thankful that they are being taken care of but it does sting a lot. Just wanted to let you know I'm right there with you.

I'm sorry for the loss of your friend.  The health agencies here keep changing everything - who is to get the shots first, where and when to get them, etc.  I know we want our boys to be immunized - I couldn't bear to have something happen to them - and I will be getting immunized (DH and I don't have a lot of luck with non-hormonal birth control and I wouldn't want to discover another pregnancy and then get H1N1).  I just wish that I didn't have to listen to so much talk of pregnant women to get the latest information.  I guess this was just a really bad time to have a loss like this (as if there would ever be a good time).
