please do this for yourself
Some of you may have noticed I was really down yesterday. I'm doing a lot better today, in part because yesterday was yesterday and today is today - but I'm also doing better because I got enough sleep last night. I have noticed when I don't get enough sleep, don't eat well, don't exercise (at least some) I don't handle the emotional stuff nearly as well.
So, here's one mommy asking all you other mommies, please take the time to take care of yourselves. It really will help. You don't have to check out completely and head for a week at a spa (although if you can - can I hitch a ride in your suitcase?) but do take the time to remember to give yourself some care. Be gentle and give yourself some grace. We have been through a horrible trauma and the emotional/mental aspect of it affect us physically and our physical well being ( or not well being) affects our capacity to maintain and process the emotions we're dealing with.
So make it a goal to eat a little better, rest, forge some "me" time, and take a walk around the block now and then. You'll be glad you did.
