St Louis

Hi Everyone -
I am just popping in to say hi and ask a question (or two!).

My name is Amy and my DH and I are thinking of moving to the Wentzville area. We live in Colorado right now, I am 24 weeks pregnant and have a 3yo DD. I work full time right now, but we have an job opportunity for my DH in STL and I think I would be able to be a SAHM for a while.

My questions are -
How do I find some prices/info on daycare in Wentzville area? I am planning on staying home, but if I wanted/needed to go back to work PT, what can I expect to pay in daycare? I have found a few names of daycare providers, but I need to know who has a good reputation.

Where would be the best place to look for home rentals in that area? We would really like to buy, but it may be more feasible to rent at first.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Here is a website from the Child Daycare Association of St. Louis that provides helpful search tools for providers.  Of course you still have to screen them for yourself, but it will help you narrow down the list.  My sister found a wonderful sitter who we both used from here.  http://beta.childcareresource.com/default.cfm?customerID=cdca&Password=Public

Wentzville is a great, growing area.  Depending on how far you would want your husband to commute, you could live in Wentzville, east (and closer to St. Louis) in Lake St. Louis or O'Fallon, or west in Foristell or Warrenton.  East will be a bit pricier, west will be a bit cheaper.   But traffic will be easier coming from the east than the west.  I haven't looked for rentals in almost 10 years, so I'm not of much help there.  The real estate market is stalling out a bit and prices are coming down, so buying may be more feasible than you think.  If you're coming from the Denver area, our prices will be a pleasant surprise.
