I need to find childcare for my son who is 10 weeks old.  I am an Rn, and I'm not sure if I'm going to go back to a regular 9-5 job, or started working three 12's in a hospital.

Ideally I am looking for someone with an inhome daycare that is state licencsed.  I would be willing to pay for full time care, but Grandma may want to take William 1-2 times/week.  I live in the Central West End, but am willing to drive almost anywhere to find the right daycare.  I have searched through every ad I could find in the paper and on Craigs list, but I am very picky about who I leave William with since I am a first time Mom and a worrier by nature.  I just cant seem to find anything that is quite right.

Grandma does have availability on M, W, and F right now, so even if I could find the right person for Tues. and Thurs. only, I would be fine with that.  Let me know if you have anything, or know of anyone.

Elizabeth

Welcome and congratulations!

Here is a site that I've found valuable:  http://beta.childcareresource.com/default.cfm?customerID=cdca&Password=Public

You can set your search criteria and it will bring back matches from the Child Daycare Association of St. Louis database.  You still want to research anyone thoroughly (of course), but it will give you a great starting place.  My sister found her sitter through this site and I ended up using her, too.  We both loved her and kept our girls there until they were old enough for preschool.

Good luck!

wow - thanks to you both for posting this! I am expecting #2 in a few weeks and have been a little bewildered trying to find reasonable (as in, less than our mortgage) FT daycare options. Thanks so much for the post and the link!

Did you find any good leads yet?  What part of town are you in?  Maybe someone can offer a personal recommendation.
