Hi. I am new here, I was looking for some sort of message board that deals with the St.Louis Zoo and this is all I could find. I was wondering does anyone know if there is any place to park besides on the Zoo property (trying to get out of paying the high parking fee) Am planning a trip later next week to the Zoo and wanted to ask this question to someone who might know. Also, I will be traveling with my husband and two of our teens and was wondering if there is a decent hotel close to the Evangelical Childrens Home on St. Charles Rock Road? Thanks!

You can park for free on the streets around the zoo. We usually park on the street by the North entrance, if you get there early you can get great parking. Later in the morning/afternoon you can still get free parking but will have to walk a bit. It looks like the children's home is right off I-170 and St. Charles Rock Road. The airport hotels are pretty close and will be cheaper than if you come in closer to the Clayton area on I-170. My inlaws stayed at the Pear Tree Inn by the airport and it was nice. Not sure if there is one by the airport but you can never go wrong with Holiday Inn Express.
