I think tandem nursing is so intense and leaves little time to post, but I get disappointed when there are no messages here and I'm sure others are too! I have six kids and I nurse my youngest two, almost 3.5 and 11 months. I can't believe I've been doing this for almost a year! My preschooler has been very clingy for the last half year or so but I see signs that this may be ending. A very funny development--he has never been jealous of his sister nursing, but now she comes to ask when she sees him doing it! Over this year we sold and bought an apartment, had a traumatic move (in a good way LOL), made a Bar Mitzvah for my son and I have a generally "full" life with 4 school age kids, volunteer BF counseling, and a DH who works hard, and no family around. But I hope things are smoothing out a little. Some days I am ready to put my son into preschool 30 hours a week like virtually every other 3yo I know (I do alternate mornings with another mother of a boy who is almost 3, usually 3-4 days a week) but so far I've resisted.

How are all of you doing? Don't be shy!

I recently graduated from "pregnant and nursing" to "tandem nursing" and so far we are doing well. I was pretty disappointed in how few recent messages there are on this board (I guess that's why it is becoming a "read only" board), so I was happy to see your post.

My little one is almost 4 wks and is already a bf champ & my big girl will be 2 in January. I have plenty of milk (enough for at least 3 babies!) so there hasn't been much jealousy, but my toddler wants to nurse almost as often as my newborn, so it can be frustrating for me at times to accomodate. (She had been nursing only a couple of times a day once my milk went away when I was pg.) And my husband casually mentioned the other day that I would probably end up bfing for 4 years straight (or more), which made me wonder if I was crazy for not taking a break in between. On the whole, though, our bf experience has been wonderful and I love to see my girls growing up strong and healthy.
