Hey there, just want to give you a little encouragement. I was a 17 year old mom raising a little girl on my own. there were some days tough days, months and even years. I worked lots of odd job to pay my rent and get food on the table (McDonald's, JC Penney stuff like that). the great thing about kids, they just want you, don't care about your job, or material things, just want you love and attention (which fortunately is free). 28 years later, I have a great daughter, who is now a lawyer in NY, she got a full scholarship to law school and still just wants my love and attention (still free). I worked hard all my life and am now the mom to a 7 year old girls as well, and the VP of a successful toy company. No free rides or parents with money supporting me, just good old fashion persistence.
Don't let people get you down, telling you how bad this is, it is not bad just hard. I want you to know that it is ALL worth it. I would have loved to be a mom later, but I would not trade what I got for anything in the world!
Keep your chin up, the love you will feel for and from your son will get you through the hard times, the joy will be boundless.
