AAARRGHHH!  I'm sorry I didn't see your post sooner - we could've commiserated.  I could've written that post.  My DS is getting FOUR molars at once.  His gums are so so swollen.  We are up every night, every two hours or so.  And when he wokes up around 4am he wants to stay awake.  It's awful!  :-(  I wish they'd come through already!!

The only thing I think would work best and help you is just let him cry it out (short term pain for long term gain). Many people have told me that if you let him cry it out for 3 nights he will get the message that you are not coming and will learn how to go back to sleep by himself....haven't tried myself yet, but am almost at the point to try. Good luck!!
