My name is Kari, I have a 3 1/2 year old son, and twins(18 months), girl and boy. I just wanted to know something. I havent even thought about beds yet however my 18 month old climbed out of his crib today, I was wondering if this is an indication of putting him in a bed or wait yet.
I don't have a toddler quite yet, but from what I've read, once a child can climb out of the crib it is generally best to move him to a bed. Hopefully other moms will chime in with their experiences!
Hi Kari. Welcome to our board! I would say that it is time to transition. It becomes a safety issue once they can crawl out because they might fall. I will say how lucky you are that they stayed in this long! I just transitioned Rileys bed from a crib to a toddler bed this weekend, now I can't keep him in the bed. LOL.
I would agree with Dana and Liesl about it being a safety issue if he's able to get out of the crib.
With my son I didn't move out to a bed till he was 2 but with my DD I had to move her early since the the baby was needing the crib she was around 16 months and did find with the bed.
