I am praying someone out there has had the problems I am having. I have never posted (or blogged before), but I am looking to see if someone can shed some light on my issues.  Last Nov. I had a tubal pregnancy and had to have surgery to remove it. When I had the surgery they found that my uterus had prolapsed and had to stitch it up. Then I was told that the tubal and the prolapsed uterus was a result of my C-section with my first child (my only child). Since the surgery my husband and I have been actively trying to conceive with no luck. I had the HSG test in August to check my tubes and both were open, Yeah! But I am still not pregnant. I am going to Dr. Thursday to voice concerns about me not getting pregnant by now. Has anyone else had this issue and difficulty getting pregnant afterwards? I have been trying to research this online, but have no long.

Welcome to the board!  I'm so sorry about your tubal pregnancy, that must have been such a difficult experience for you.  I've never heard of the uterus prolapsing before, you might want to ask over on the Ectopic Loss board, there are several women also trying to conceive and one of them might have had the same thing happen.  You might also want to ask the ladies over on Infertility Support, they all have lots of experience dealing with issues with conceiving.

If you are having trouble figuring out what some of the abbreviations are, here is a link to our Commonly Used Acronyms.  We also have alot of information on our Trying to Conceive main page if you want to check it out.

I'm so sorry you have been having difficulties. I know how frustrating it can be. We all do. I think you will find lots of support and advice on these boards. Remember that it can a healthy couple a year to conceive. Just because it is taking a while doesn't mean there is anything wrong, but you should still talk to your doctor. Are you temping or using OPKS? It might be that you are just missing ovulation. Baby dust.

I am so sorry for what you are going through.  I totally understand. I'm going through the exact same thing.  I had a Partial Molar pregnancy December 2008, which I ended up having to have a D&C.  My DH and I have been trying since March to conceive.  All of my lab work has come back normal, and I also had an HSG done two weeks ago, which my tubes are also clear! yay....so why am I not pregnant?  I understand your frustration, and I'm sorry you also have to go through the sadness.

My DH and I decided to give it until the end of the year, and we'd go back to the fertility doc.  He's the one that performed my HSG, so maybe he can figure something out.  We have a 2 yr old little girl, so DH has gotten me pregnant twice, so I'm not sure he's the problem, but they say things can change....so we'll see what happens.  I'm praying for you, and everyone else who has gone through what we have.

Hi lariverat,

I have no experience with this type of loss and I am sorry for what you have gone through!

Because your uterus has been through so much it may just need more time to heal.  Are you doing regular exercises to strengthen the muscles of the uterus? Kegels really help!  Repeatedly squeeze and relax the muscles of your pelvic floor.

To perform these exercises, tighten your pelvic muscles as if you're stopping your stream of urine. Hold for a count of five, relax and repeat. Do these exercises several times a day.

Another great thing you can do is Self Fertility Massage.  Self Fertility Massage™ is a series of massage techniques that are used to help support reproductive health, the menstrual cycle, and your fertility. This type of massage may  help reposition uterus, increase circulation to the uterus, support uterine health, promotes hormonal balance and aids in the elimination of old scarring and adhesions caused from trauma such as ectopic pregnancy and c-section.  If you would like to learn more about this type of massage that you can do at home go to this link:  http://natural-fertility-info.com/fertility-massage

This massage technique will also help you to heal yourself and reconnect to your fertility in a positive way!

Best Wishes,

Dalene

Mother of 2 boys ages 6 and 4
