Pregnancy Test Question

Hi!  I'm new to this board - I lurked a while back before I got pregnant with my daughter.  I have a question about pregnancy tests.  I'm wondering if anyone has used a generic Walgreens pregnancy test?

Short story - I'm a very regular cycle.  I am supposed to start tomorrow, but really I normally start showing signs the day before (spotting, etc.) but I haven't today at all.  I could just tell something was different this time - I can't explain it.  I went off the pill last month because we planned to start trying again in December.  We DTD once w/out protection but DH pulled out (sorry, tmi maybe!).  Anyway, I know you technically can get pregnant that way, but I would never think our first month off with a 7 month old baby that it could happen?  Is that normal?

I just went and bought a Walgreens test b/c I literally am SO anxious about it, wondering.  I would be happy if we are b/c I think having a baby is a joy no matter when - we wanted them close, but not quite this close - they would be 16 months apart.  It just makes me nervous, and I really want to know.

The stick shows a faint positive line.  Very faint, but you can see it.  Has anyone else used a Walgreens test?  If it's negative, can you make out the positive cross bar at all?  It has gradually gotten darker, but I know eventually you can just end up with an evap line.  I don't know what to think and I hate to go out and spend $30 more dollars on a better test! (I have 2 more of the walgreens ones to take)

Just curious for ANY feedback - I'm not sure I can stand not going out tomorrow to buy another test, but I hate to spend that for a negative.  Thanks everyone - sorry this post is so sporadic.

Is this a blue dye or a pink dye test?  Not that it totally matters ...

If the test line is there, it's there.  A line is a line.  I would however test in the morning with FMU.

KUP!  FX for you!

Hi Laura!  Thanks for the reply.  I looked and it is a blue dye test.  How does that affect it?  I've only taken one other PT before so I'm pretty clueless.  But now I understand why you spend more for a good one. ;)  I'm going to take it first thing in the morning again and see if that makes it darker or not.  After that if it is still fuzzy, I may just get another test.

Thanks again!

The reason I asked about pink or blue is that blue dye tests have a high frequency of evaporation lines.

If the line showed up within the time limit, is thick as the control line and has color to it, then it's a BFP!

When actively TTC I usually stock up on $ tree tests.  I'm a POAS addict.  However, when I really wanna know I  use a FRER (First Response Early).

Soooo, did you test this morning?  Hoping it's good news for you.  KMP!

Hi Laura!  I didn't know that about blue lines, so thank you!

I did take another test this morning, and yes, it was a BFP!  Much quicker this time and no doubt.  The vertical line is a little lighter than the horizontal, but I read in the directions that it doesn't matter, it's still a BFP.  Not to mention I'm late...which never happens to me.  SO we are having #2 in July with an almost 8 month old!  ahhh!!

It's such a blessing, I know.  Yesterday I was flipping out but today I'm excited.  I pray you get your BFP soon, too.  I know it's hard to be waiting.  I really appreciate you responding to my post.
