Hello, my name is Jen. My husband, Dan and I got married on May 16, 2008. Through a long path of negative pregnancy tests, we're still charging along positively to make a baby!
A bit of background: I was on birth control from age 16-22; I went off the pill in April of 2007, using no form of contraceptive while having intercourse. In January of 2008, Dan and I met with my gynecologist to see what options are out there once we got married. They performed some tests on me, all ok. They did a semen analysis on Dan and not the greatest, but not the worst. The results indicated a low sperm count with some-what good sperm. After getting married, I switched gynecologists (one closer to home and more personable). Once meeting with him in July 2008, the doctor started me immediately on Clomid. After completing Clomid treatment for 5 months, I got rather discouraged. I spoke with my doctor about this and he said, we have two options:
1) Do one more cycle of Clomid and follow up with sperm washing/IUI
2) Refer Dan and I to a Fertility Clinic
We went for the referral, Dan and I went to meet the Fertility Doctor in June 2009... So, after waiting a few more months, I decided to call at the start of this cycle (10.20.09). It has been very interesting so far, I am very nervous for my first ever IUI on 11.02.09.
I cannot wait to find out the outcome :)
