I have a 13mo son who is still nursing 3 or 4 times a day. He sleeps 12 hours at night.

My DH and I would like to TTC #5, but only once have I gotten PG while BFing. The other times I have had to wean completely. My second youngest I weaned at 22 months, and got pg at 23 months. I would really like to avoid weaning, but would also like to get PG sooner rather then later. I don't want another 3 year age gap...

Is there anything I can do to help bring on AF without weaning my baby?

TIA!

HI and welcome :) I might be the wrong person to answer your question since I have a 2 1/2 year gap between my boys and am looking at a 3 year gap for #3 if I am lucky enough to finally get pregnant again! LOL :) I am nursing my 2 year old and hoping to get pregnant again soon........
I don't know if you personally can get pregnant again without fully weaning - every woman and it would seem to me, after every baby things are different......it took me 16 months to get AF back after #1 and only 5 or so after #2 but I managed to get pregnant with #2 when #1 was 22 months old, and now that #2 is over 24 months old, am still trying for #3....I am guessing age is a factor with me (37 years old) but who knows what else is stopping us at this point!

I would check out the TTC Fact Sheet in the Mommy Talk folder above and see some great suggestions there for ways to encourage your cycles to come back - including an herb called Vitex which has worked wonders for some and not so much for others, starting to use OPK's and temping/charting to try and catch that egg when it finally drops, various vitamins and teas etc. Check it out and stick around with any other questions you might have!

Glad you dropped in and hope you join us for a short while!

Good luck, Jasmine
