hey everyone,

Just wondering how possible it is to catch the first egg. I am still BF my 8 mnth old and have been having lots of yellowish EWCF and lots of cramping, so should i take this as possible ovulation and start trying or is there a lot of false starts before AF really returns. This is the first time i ve had cramping and EWCF, my DD is on solids and sleeping thru the night.

Yes, it is very possible.  The older your baby is when your fertility returns, the more likely you are to O before ppaf.  You can start charting to keep track of things.....temp., cm, etc.  Before you actually O or get af, though, you will most likely have patches of ewcm that don't lead to O.....or spotting that doesn't lead to af.

I bought a ton of internet cheapie opks and kept track of it that way, too.  I would have thought I O'd a bunch of times if not for my negative opk's and temps.  I think I paid $20 bucks for a hundred pack of opk's.

I started charting before my DD turned a year b/c I was getting signs.......5 months and 284 negative opk's later, I just got a positive!  But if you want to catch the first egg, and your personality is such.....(I'm a poas addict) daily opk's will do it for you!

Good luck!

Dee

Dee,

Where did you get your opk's?  That's a better deal than I got.  I need more and have really been scrimping.  Lean month, bluck.

And 284 opk's!!! Lol.  That would seem like a huge number if I didn't see how fast I just went through 100 and not using them every day.

And hope you catch the eggie!!

I got them on E-bay.  There are a few different shippers.  You can usually find a hundred pack for $25 with free shipping--from within the US--Texas, I think.  They came in 3 days.

If you're willing to wait 3 weeks or so, there is a shipper from Hong Kong that I've used....they are even cheaper.  I think they are $19.98 for a hundred pack with free shipping.

Good luck!!!

Dee
