totally MIA but it's a VBAC boy!!!!
There are a handful of you I know from my first pregnancy and I wanted to just tell you all we have a healthy little boy in our family now. I was team green again and though I had dreams it was a boy, and I was NOT diabetic this time, I still just figured it woujld be another girl. Nope! Here are the stats..
Bryce Donald Knese born 8-18-09
8lb 13oz 20"
My daughter, Cora- 19 months, was born emergency c/s and it was VERY unnecessary. For those who remember I was super upset about the whole thing for a long time. Had to find a new dr and new hospital in order to have a VBAC. I looked even before we were trying for #2. Long story short, it was AWESOME!! I highly recommend it!!! Here is the low down
At 36 weeks I was 3 cm! 37 weeks 3.5cm....ok should go into labor anytime right? NO. 38 weeks 4cm and scheduled an induction for that friday (4 days later). My dr likes to induce VBAC for better baby size and healthy placenta. Friday induction got bumped to tuesday....BUMMER. I was so excited and had just been feeling like this baby would come out anytime.
Tuesday came and I went in for induction. 4.5cm and dr broke my water about 9:30. Started me on the pit and after about 5 ctx that I knew hurt and would only get worse I got the epi (something I didn't want the first time but was stuck at 6 for so long that once I caved I had heart decels which is why they called the c/s). It worked like a charm and I was 10cm in about 2 hours!!!!!
Pushed for 2.5 hours, got REALLY swollen. Had an episiotimy and tore (2nd degree) but the moment he came out was the most amazing thing ever. I was in tears with excitement that I had done it and that he was here. I really needed it! Everyone in the room laughed as he came out about how big he was. I am only 5'1" and 110 when not pg.
The healing was uncomparable to the c/s. Mentally I was much better as well. I am just a total VBAC advocate and I know c/s are becoming more and more common. If any of you are debatingm go for it. It's your god given tight and there are dr's out there who agree!
