"Moving this post to the appropriate spot for Jacqueline.

Hello my name is Jacqueline and I am 30 yrs old. I am married and have 2 girls ages 11, and 8. I had a tubal ligation reversal on Feb. 13, 2008. I am hoping and praying to become pregnant. If there is anyone out there that can give me some advice I would appreciate it. Here are some questions I would love to hear about, but of course I will talk about anything.

If you have had a TR what kind was it? I had rings/clips around mine.

What was your lengths after TR? Mine was 5.5, and 7.2.

How long were you asked to wait until intercourse and TTC, and did you wait?

How long have you been trying? Any success or even losses? I want to know what to look for and watch for.

How long till you got a positive test, and tell me about it?

God Bless,

Jacqueline

Hi there!!

I am 36 years old and 17+ weeks pregnant with TWINS!!!

I had three children with a man I should not have married in the first place (unplanned pregnancy) and got a tubal ligation since I was so flippin' fertile. Well, that finally ended and I met a wonderful man that has never been married and has never had children. We decided to have the reversal surgery done before resorting to IVF. Well, that was in May of 07. We were finally ready to start trying in November's ovulation cycle. We were building like crazy on a new house and were totally working our bodies to the limit that month. The next month - December - we got pregnant. Lo and behold, in the 28 years my doctor had been doing reversal surgeries, never has there been twins as a result of the surgery... until us!! These happen to be identical, so not because of my age that I popped off two eggs.

My tubes were about 5 cm each after surgery. I had had them cauterized in the first place near the middle, so there was a great suture area to work with - similar diameters of tube on both sides.

We were told to wait at least two full cycles until trying, but not to let more than 6 of trying go by before having an HSG done if not pregnant yet. DH had his sperm count done before we even went to the reversal doctor so we knew if he was "good to go" before I went through surgery. His count was 195 million, so there were certainly no issues there!

I was paranoid that I would do something to jar the tubes loose right after surgery, but the doc said there was absolutely nothing to worry about. Also, the incision they do for this surgery is the best one, as it doesn't involve any cutting of muscle. I have had no complaints of the incision area besides the scar being itchy and a bit tender from time to time.

We were very diligent about plenty of sex and even did the OPK's the second month. At 11 DPO I took a test right away in the morn. The result line didn't show up in the allotted time, so I went back to bed for 20 min. When we got up to get ready DH looked at it and asked what it would have looked like if it were positive, so I pointed at it and said "there would be a line right there WHERE THAT ONE SEEMS TO BE!!!!" I was using early indicator tests by AimStick from BabyHopes.com, so it was very sensitive. Neither one of us believed it completely until the next morn showed another very faint line. Mind you, I had had sore boobs since the day after conception **NO JOKE**, so I was more readily convinced. I made an appt for hCG quants right away to be done the next Mon and Wed (16 and 18 DPO). They were 343 and 823 respectively. No indication of twins...

They did an ultrasound at 5 weeks to be sure the pregnancy was located in my uterus... little sac right where it should be. Nothing distinguishable inside it at that point, as is to be expected. They wanted to do another at 6 weeks to check for the fetal pole... yep, but not a strong enough or very measurable heartbeat for my doc's comfort level, so we had to go back again at 7 1/2 weeks... yep, definitely a baby that time. As a matter of fact, there were two!!! Imagine finding out you're having twins when the u/s tech has the probe THERE!!! Laughing and crying and hyperventilating all at the same time. She said the moms usually cry and the dads get a huge grin. In looking back at the fetal pole u/s pic, I do remember wanting to ask when it was being done why there were two white streaks. There are two white streaks - fetal poles - in the same spots as the two babies were hanging out 1 1/2 weeks later!!! Just goes to show that they didn't see it because they weren't looking. The 11 week scan was done at the perinatal clinic and the specialist u/s tech was adamant that they were identical.

Anyhoo... When you get your positive test result, you need to get in to have your hSG quants done and then an ultrasound to make sure the baby didn't get stuck in the tube.

I just wanted to share my SUPER experience with you to give you hope that this procedure does work for some people. (I have read several places that the ring/clip method has a higher reversal success rating since it leaves more tube to be put back together) Your tube length sounds fabulous! Best of luck to you and tons of baby dust!!!
