Yes, my German OB didn't even BLINK at the thought of my having a midwife to have the baby at home. My last pregnancy was so complicated it almost makes sense in a way. The DOC gets paid anyways for doing doctor stuff AND gets to make sure everything STAYS fine. Not like the US where the mentality is they can fix it. IF things go wrong again someone I know is already there!
Oh & my hubby LEFT the hospital less then 5 minutes before our 3rd child was born, so I GET them not wanting to be there, lol! Mine is a total MESS when I'm not feeling well, YOURS handled things beautifully!
