Decided to go to a birth center! Yay!

Well, I spoke to the director at the birth center, and even though I am already at 26 weeks, she says that so far it looks like I am a prime candidate!  She wants me to get my sugar test done next week, go to my 28 week appointment the week after, and then transfer my med. records over to them.  As long as I do not have Gestational Diabetes (which I have never had before), they will take me on as a new patient)!

So it looks like so far, so good.  I am thinking very seriously about trying a water birth.  When I mentioned this to my husband he was like "no way", but it's just his ignorance.  His only experience with childbirth was with the twins' induction in the hospital, and he hasn't exactly read up on natural childbirth!

But I have done this before, and I really think I am ready to do this one last time!

I don't think I have heard anything but wonderful birth stories from women who have had water births, so I really think I may want to try it.

What do you think?

Congrats! So glad you found a place!

I've never had a waterbirth myself, but I've only heard good things. I say go for it!

Good luck and happy birthing!

Woohoo! What great news :)

We tried for a waterbirth during my HBAC, but things went so quickly that we weren't able to get the birthtub warm enough...I wish I could have done it!

I would definitely keep is as an option. You/DH can always choose NOT to, but it's nice ot have it there, kwim? Some women just enjoy the tub during labor and then decide to birth 'on land'. Perhaps that is a compromise you two could make?

Yes, actually I asked the birth center if that was an option and they were really very liberal about the whole labor and birth process!

I know I'll get my hubby on board---it will be a totally different experience for him than our twin delivery in the hospital, and I know that it will be the most incredible experience of his life!
