Unmedicated Birth

The tubs available at the hospital where I'll be delivering are regular bath tubs with jets. They also have a central tub room. The tub in there is a bit wider and has a seat in the back.

I was under the impression a jetted tub wasn't a good idea to birth in b/c the internal pipes couldn't be cleaned well enough in between uses. I'm not sure if the central tub is jetted...

Should I just buy a birthing tub? I would imagine it would be lots more comfy than a bath tub.

Hmmm. I'd imagine that with hospitals being so worried about anything going wrong that they wouldn't have the jetted tubs unless they were safe.

Do you mean buy a birthing tub and bring it yourself to the hospital? Or are they at the hospital available for you to buy? Sorry...it's been a very, very long day!

 

A hospital near me has DIFFERENT size tubs for different size moms!

I think HOME tubs are iffy, hospitals use stronger stuff AND have probably thought all those things through as well. You can ALWAYS ask you know!
