I think you should read anything that inspires you, to continue educating your own. I have read a few listed here, and a few others on education both at home and at large. I think that reading the newspaper is very inspiring to me, read all the problems with schools, kids, adults "in charge" and you know it is all just more political bull because no one wants to be a leader of change, except me. I homeschool...I am my own leader of change. I notice the political leaders of edu talk the same talk and never do the real work of change. That makes me want to do anything and everything I can do to keep my kids here for educational reasons. I do not want any of my kids to feel like a pawn in a sick chess game ever again. I called Check and they called check mate and I said fine game over, because my child is not a win/loose game to be played with, she is my child who deserves to be well educated and happy with herself. So I read papers the school district has sent saying they can't serve me,they have no money for me, my kid is not worthy ect... over and over as my inspiration. Then to not get depressed I read a Dr. Suess book to my kids. I go see all the parents at the library doing the same....because no matter how you school...if you need the childcare that public or church or other private schools provide use them....but know you are the parent they are your children and there is risk involved in all the choices you make. I choose to risk my own self not my children as long as I have to do so, becuase when I tried to do it the other way and it did not work I was deeply depressed, and so was my child. So I have to homeschool for health reasons.
Yet I wish for all children to get an education, but I am only the parent to three children. So Keep on reading, be inspired and live with that not depression it can kill you, or your child!!!!
