Vaccine Support

I don't know why, but i am EXTREMELY upset right now... My DH decided that he does want the regular flu shot for himself this yr.. I just now called the doc. office and asked politely what BRANDS of flu shot they are offering this yr.. I know that my DH does want the SHOT and not the nasal mist-spray, so I needed to know what brands they offer so then I could select a mercury-FREE one for him ahead of time...

The girl who answered the phone was like....uh.... umm.....what BRAND????   i don't know.. let me check... then another lady who acted like she was put OUT, answered, and said can i help you?? i politely repeated my question, and she goes... um... i dont know what you mean.. what BRAND??? SO, i rattled off all the brands, and she goes oh... um... i think we have Fluzone here. I said.. is it in individual syringes (merc. free)  or mult-dose vials??? (with merc.) she goes

10-dose vials... I then asked if my DH could get the nasal spray (which anyone knows is MERC. free) she said um... no we dont have those

FUNNY!!! i called last week, and someone told me that if my DH wants the mist, i can schedule a regular appt. w/ the doc to get it.

i am sooo pissed at their ignorance. I'm like crying b/c..... i don't know how people can just go...ok whatever... when THEY"RE THE ONES "RESPONSIBLE" for giving us these shots!!!!!

Thanks! I ended up calling a pharmacist @ Walgreens, they were EXTREMELY polite, knowledgable and nice to me about it.

As it turns out, they (walgreens) offers it on the weekends when my hubby doesnt work, so he won't have to take off from work to get it! :))

I disagree.  Thimerosal is NOT an overriding theme in pediatric vaccinations.  Period.

I'll thank you not to put words in my mouth.  Those concerns HAVE been put to rest and there is nothing dismissive about this fact whatsoever.
