Hi everyone,

Anyone know where I can locate a list of ingredients for the H1N1 vaccine.  I've searched the internet but I have not been able to find anything.  I'm just curious to see what is in the vaccine.....

Thanks!

Okay, first, I just have to say, I LOVE your siggy!  Reese looks like she's quite a ham!

In the meantime, did a google search and found...

Click on the various brands to read the inserts.

From what I understand it's made the same as the seasonal flu vaccine, just a different virus strain.  My kids and I have all had the regular flu shot at least a couple of times with no issues, so as soon as the H1N1 is available, we're all getting it.  Can't get here soon enough, if you ask me!

Thanks to Chris for my great siggy

Yes, it is EXACTLY the same as the "regular" flushot only with a different virus. Honestly, this is not unlike them using a different strain in the regular flushot - which they alter every year to the viruses deemed likely to be a problem that year.

If they'd had the time this virus would have been included in the current "regular" flu vaccine. However, production had already started on that for this year so they had to mix it up differently.

The risk/benefit of the flu shot is established - it is very safe if people follow the recommendations (i.e., talk w/ your MD if you have an egg allergy, don't take if you've had chronic fatigue syndrome, etc). Out of 39,000 people in China who just took the H1N1 they had only four "adverse events" and those were cramps and a headache.

Good luck in making your decision. Our whole family will be getting it. For people like us who may have children with other chronic disease or compromised health it really is the best decision. The disease is worse than the cure here, especially for those kids.

Sorry, I'm a little behind on my posting.  Thanks for the info.  Reese came down with a throat infection so she has not been well enough to get any flu vaccines yet.  Hopefully when she is finished with her antibiotics we can get started.

Thanks again...
