I would have just sent a pm to someone but dont know how here.I just dont want anyone to read this and be scared to get the mist/shot.

Well my 2 kids and I all got the H1N1 flu-mist today.

I always get the seasonal flu shot. Do to low doses all they had for the healthy people was h1n1 mist.

After, I felt weird some head pressure,Very dry mouth and throht. I got very Anxious after (I do suffer from panic attacks though) I had some nervousness and chest tightness.

So I have done some reading & read something on a site about flu-mist and bells palsy or GBS?I also read about the toxins in it going straight to the brain?

Please tell me that the flu-mist is safe....I want to know that I wont have a reaction or I should have got the shot...I just don't know if I did the right thing with getting the mist?

Has anyone gotten the mist before how did you feel after?

No fever or anything like that yet, just some head pressure and the red eyes but I get that with the shots aswell.

It is SAFE. Sounds like your panic maybe got the best of you earlier.

Honestly, the only reason that the H1N1 virus wasn't in your "regular" flu shot or flu mist is that they didn't have time to get it in there and production had already begun. The ONLY difference between the regular one and the H1N1 is the virus - and they change the virus in them EVERY year. millions of doses of vaccine and very few problems. The safety to risk ratio for this vaccine is very high. And, out of 39,000 given in China they had exactly FOUR "adverse events" which were headache and muscle cramps.

So - DEEP BREATH. You did the right thing to protect yourself, your kids, and other people. It is a very safe vaccine and is no different from your "regular" flu shot/mist.

Hope this helps...

I agree with Amy - that was absolutely the right thing to do. My kids get seasonal FluMist every year and have not had either the flu or side effects from the mist. There are no "toxins" in the FluMist that go "straight to the brain". That's just plain rubbish and whatever website you read that on is sadly uninformed.

Flu mist is only unsafe if you are pregnant or in specific danger groups. I think it sounds like a panic attack more than anything.

Are you feeling okay now? :)

>>"Flu mist is only unsafe if you are pregnant or in specific danger groups"<<

FluMist is fine to use in pregnant women.  The major contraindication/"danger group" to using FluMist would be an immunodeficiency such as chemotherapy for cancer or uncontrolled asthma.
