I am 36 years old. I had a tubal ligation done in May 2002 during the c-section delivery of my 4th child. I regret this now and I am looking into a reversal. Dh is 34 and he is on board with the idea. I never had any trouble conceiving. Any insight into doctors would be appreciated greatly. I have seen the website for the Chaple Hill NC Dr Buerger I believe? Has anyone had any experience with them? I live in PA so this a drivable trip for us. Any info or advice is appreciated.

I'm sorry I don't know anything about tubal reversal Drs. But I can sure understand your situation otherwise. My husband had a vasectomy after our fourth child, about 5 years ago. About a year ago, we started longing for more children. He had a reversal done this summer and I am now pregnant with our fifth child. We are so thankful to have this second chance. I wish you the best in this journey.

I went to Dr. Berger.  Have you sent him your operative report?  I ended up with 2.5 and 4.5 tube lengths.  I had an ectopic in the short side and ended up having the tube removed.  Will probably start iui in January.  It is a very good place.  The chance of ectopic is greater after reversal.  I don't know if I agree with their 10% that Chapel hill says get ectopics.  I think it is greater.  They have a message board that is interesting.

Thanks for the responses. Would you pick the chapel hill drs if you had it to do over again. Are there any other drs anyone has info on? I do have to get my medical records sent there and see what they say. How long did it take to get a response once they got those?

Hello,

Just wanted to share some quick info with you concerning your blog interest. I had my TR done on June of 09 & had my TL since 1998. I had the operation with Dr. Rosenfeld in Houston,TX. His staff there was amazingly generous & the operation went as smooth as a baby's bottom, lol. His pricing for everything including hospitalization was 6300. It's a quick 2hr (depending on how much of your fallopian tubes is recoverable)in/out patient surgery procedure. After you fax in your medical records it takes the doctor a week to review & decide if you're a good candidate. Once that's been said & done they require $1000 dollar deposit for the appt. From there on it's all mash potatoes w/gravy. Recovery for your AF to return to normality is about 2cycles after. That's how long the doctor will state for you to wait to start TTC.
Me, that's the boat I'm on now. Unfortunately my fiance works off shore every 2wks off & on. So .. you guessed it ladies, it's harder to pin point O-days w/that kind of scheduling & maintain patience & romance in the same sail. However, I'm opptimistic & will retain my dreams & hopes of becoming a mommy one more time. My blessings to all of you w/o any restrictions.

In spirit your friend
