Vasectomy/Tubal Reversal Journey

Hi everyone! I posted in October check in thread already but I'll introduce myself on here as well. I'm Karen, 33 and my DH, Jason is 29. We went through with the vasectomy about 2 years ago and we were sure we were done. We have two sons, Jacob (6) and Elliot (3). The last year or so I really started feeling this void in my life. I spent a lot of time convincing myself that it wasn't because I wanted another child but eventually realized that I couldn't deny it anymore. It's taken DH awhile to admit it, but he felt the urge to have another one as well. We have a VR scheduled with Dr Wilson in January. I just don't know how I'm going to wait that long!! I do have a question for those of you that have used Dr Wilson...how hard was it to move up in the schedule? We check the schedule quite a bit during the day but I'm not sure if it's worth spending the time checking for earlier openings. I look forward to getting to know all of you and sharing our journeys!

Congratulations!! We used Dr Wilson this past Sept. In July...We originally were scheduled for November and found an opening for Sept quickly. You do need to check a few times a day they can go quick. We could have moved up sooner than Sept but DH schedule was only open for Sept.....

I'm Michelle, We have 3 kids and wanted the reversal for the same reasons you do. Vasectomy are so permanent .....I don't know what we were thinking. Anyway our VR went well...This is our first month TTC!

Dr. Wilson is a one of a kind Dr. The whole process was actually very peaceful. He is a christian and we really liked that he prayed and put his trust in God before the procedure.

Congrats on your decision to reverse!! That is so awesome. I think we can all appreciate the way you felt about the void from wanting another child. I dont think you can deny the desires of your heart.

I do believe that there is always an opportunity to move up the schedule with Dr. W. It is just a matter of being patient as well as diligent. Check out his site several times a day and be prepared to change the date. With his schedule, it is a change or dont change split decision as I understand that those spots go very quickly.

We managed to move the appointment up 5 days, which is something! I know it isn't much but that extra five days might mean that we get to ttc a month earlier than what I originally thought!!
