I agree with Stacey. Definitely check with the lab and ensure you can meet their time requirements if collecting the sample at home.
Also, the collection condom is most likely the best method since the sample is supposed to be collected into a sterile container. Regular condoms may not be the best when it comes to sterile environments. (MHO)
I know my DH had always done the samples at the lab with the exception of the last one...he had me "assist" with the collection at home....it was also our worst sample than the others of him giving the sample at the hospital lab.
Be prepared that each and every sample may produce differing results with some counts being lower than others, motility variations and even volume variations. Some of the ladies have indicated that the volume and results are worse when DH presents sample on demand at the lab and that results are better with a more "natural" collection process.
Also keep in mind, that most if not all labs will not accept the collection condom, and instead you and DH would have to transfer the contents to the sterile lab specimen cup.
