I wanted to ask who has had a re-do?

Do you still have sperm present?

Did you have a VE the 2nd time

I dont really know where to go from here. I thought I would get some quick answers in my research of what might work out best for us.

Thanks,

Lindsay

I wanted to ask who has had a re-do? We did a re-do VR last year July. After our first VR failed in 2007.

Do you still have sperm present? As of the last SA we did still have sperm present but the numbers were not very good. Although each SA can fluctuate with regards to counts, motility, etc. Having still been able to see sperm was a good thing.

Did you have a VE the 2nd time? Both of our VR's were VV connections.

We also had a redo with Dr Marks. Our initial VR was bilateral VV's and our redo was bilateral VE's. We are unfortunately one of the unlucky ones that never got sperm with either one. We are doing IVF in January with sperm we froze during the second VR. Sorry to not have a more positive story.

Kristen ~

I am so glad to hear that you were able to bank sperm at the re-do VR with Dr. Marks. Neither of our surgeries presented with bankable sperm. *sigh*

I wish you luck with IVF!!! Please keep us posted on how that goes.

Lindsay ~ Have you and your DH come to an agreement on next steps?

Dh is one of those types of people that wants me to have researched everything about it until I present it to him. He doesn't want me to go half facts.  I have been doing research almost all day. I have spoke to Dr. Roeder about a possible re-do and he will charge $1300.00.  I have set him up with the urologist next week to do some tests and also look at the enlarged right testicle (it is the one Dr. Roeder had to completely take out to try and fix the vas deferens).

I have also begun researching IVF/ICSI as well. I am going to look into my medication benefits and I already talked to the insurance. They will pay for the diagnostic appointment.  I am also looking at donating my eggs.  I have some money in my HSA account and my employer will put another $1300.00 in January.  With the economy my husband is hesitate.  We have a brand new house and 2 brand new cars. We also have 4 children already to take care of.  I am insisting that that is how the world works it has its ups and then goes down.  I have taken a part time job at night and if the company lays us off then I will have a back up but I need to do what my insurance will pay for now.  I also plan on going back to nursing school but I will wait until they tell us who they are going to lay off first. That was long winded but any ideas will help.

Lindsay
